A NEW GENERATION HORN FOR BICYCLISTS!
Doğuş Otomotiv’s brand ‘Traffic is Life’ had aimed to create a safe driving experience for everybody. So, we thought to point out and find a solution to a critical problem that none of the brands in Turkey got their hands on: ensuring the safety of both bicyclists and motorbikers as much as drivers!
And we developed the app ‘HOP’ to ease the life of both bicyclists and drivers in traffic.
The app ‘HOP’ listens to the signals of the bicycle that approaches when the ‘car’ mode is on and sends signals to the driver when the ‘bicycle’ mode is on. The app is activated once the bicyclist is at a distance of 30 meters from the driver and warns the driver about the approaching bicyclist by sending audible and visual signals. In this way, all drivers who do not realize the bicyclist and turn, brake suddenly on the right lane, or open their doors without looking around are able to easily realize the bicyclist in traffic. In case multiple bicyclists approach the vehicle at the same time or pass by the vehicle one after the other, the app ‘HOP’ runs with a smart algorithm in an optimized manner to not disturb the driver.
We developed a mobile app to not only offer a solution to the problems bicyclists encounter in traffic but also undertake a great responsibility for drivers. The app ‘HOP!’ was first introduced to bicyclists at the Bicycle Festival organized by Kadıköy Municipality as a pilot project and is now available in both App Store and Android Store for everybody!
