The journey to your dreams!
Istanbul Airport wanted to accompany its visitors throughout their journey from home to aircraft. Although the big size of the airport seemed to cause people to experience the stress of catching a flight on time more than usual, it was a pleasant experience for people to go on a journey. The disadvantages of this enjoyable experience had to be turned into advantages. In order to make visitors discover innovations, shops, and pleasant areas within the airport, we have developed an application where they can plan their travel time from home to their flight.
We designed pages where anyone can track their flight easily by selecting the date and flight or scanning their tickets, without needing to log in to the app. As the needs of users vary according to the time of their flight, we offered them different experiences through dashboards prepared based on their needs.
We designed screens where users can easily track their own flight by selecting a date and flight or by scanning their boarding pass without logging in so that everyone can easily track their flight. We have provided different experiences with dashboards designed for the needs of the users whose needs vary according to the flight time.
We thought that a passenger should be able to plan the time spent at the airport in the most accurate way. With “My Journey” feature, we enabled users to plan their time until the flight. Users can add all the “stop” points to the “Journey” area, which includes the events happening at the airport and the stores they want to stop by, and the restaurants they want to explore. The application offers a planning according to the remaining time of the passenger by creating a route through points close to each other.
We wanted to include everything that you would be looking for in the application. Following that, we have put the map of the world’s largest airport and every place you are looking for inside the application.
We have provided passengers with many functional features such as transfer from home to the airport, flight tracking, attractions in Istanbul, free WiFi, finding your car in the parking lot, and transportation options in Istanbul.
Before realizing all of this, we had to get to know the passengers and find a motivation to make them use the application. In order to determine the needs of the users, we mapped out the personas of the passengers. We discussed the moods of the personas and identified their needs. We have created different experiences to meet those needs. We have drawn and fictionalized experiences before designing those experiences. In the end, we have designed an experience-oriented and enjoyable application that does not only focuses on promotion.
